Individual Therapy San Diego
CONNECT, HEAL, AND GROWLooking for individual therapy San Diego?
You’ve come to the right place.
We offer virtual and in-person options for individual therapy.
The thought of starting the individual therapy journey doesn’t come to us naturally. We have been conditioned to believe that we can “handle it on our own” or “take care of ourselves.” And when we can’t, because we are human, we feel broken or damaged. It takes courage to seek out help. It takes awareness and insight to know that we can’t fix everything. And it takes connection, joining with another person for the journey.
When we are at the point of desiring to connect with another person to help us on our growth journey, we want to make sure it’s a good fit. We want to feel like we will be seen, both the parts we are open to showing and even the parts we try to keep hidden. We want to be heard, the things we are saying and even more importantly, the things we are not.
About Our San Diego Therapy Services
At Connected ~ Seen & Heard, we offer something authentic in our therapy services. We emphasize the humanity in the process. We understand the strength and courage it takes to open up to a stranger, the fear that can come from exploring your soul with another person sitting across from you. We strive to create an environment, a space that cultivates safety, understanding, and compassion. It is not our job to tell you what to do. It is our job to join you on this journey. Exploring one’s past can be daunting. There is a reason those memories and experiences are places so deeply underground. Even current events, stressors, patterns of behaviors, and relationships can be overwhelming. We ask ourselves “why do I keep responding this way,” “why can’t I get out of my own way?” We can help you find those answers within yourself.
Our approach at Connected ~ Seen & Heard draws from a range of theoretical approaches, evidence-based therapies, and holistic practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Attachment Theory, Family Systems Theory, and experiential therapeutic activities like body awareness, mindfulness, and meditation. We create a treatment approach that is individualized for you. The human experience is unique to each of us. We get that. We are less about the identified modality and more about meeting you where you are. We find your starting point and we walk with you.
There is no “right time” to seek therapy. You might be saying “it’s not that bad” or “I’ve felt worse.” The right time is the present moment. Whether you are struggling with relationship issues, starting or ending one, dealing with patterns of behavior from your family of origin, looking to find motivation and purpose, or starting over, we are here to provide the space to start the journey. Some of our clients have unresolved trauma, some are struggling with substance use. Some have had diagnoses of mental health disorders from other professionals like depression, anxiety, or PTSD. However, they are all humans, having their own unique human experience.
